Set over two levels at the Fishergate shopping centre in Preston, Starbucks Coffee shop, is a mine of interesting people, conversations. A true chance to people watch as it overlooks the main entrance to the Fishergate centre, Preston’s more “affluent” of the 3 shopping centres.
I really only come in on a Sunday afternoon where I can have true me time…. headphones on… totally absorbed
Usually have myself a large filter coffee (room for milk if anyone wants to put one in front of me and sit down next to me), and spend a good hour or two in there.
One thing they REALLY need to sort out are the large groups of “Indie” kids that buy one drink between them and then sit on the comfy chairs and take photos of each other for the next 2 hours!

Having left Preston I can no longer really comment on the place. Starbucks in Fishergate Preston was a loverly place to go. Good meeting point. The coffee shop listed below no longer exists |
Update: (May 2009)
Currently visiting 140Coffee on Friargate nearly exclusively now, run by Franky, an outspoken professional blogger and social media guru. Similar (ish) prices. Smaller premises with more of a cosy feel to the place due to their comfy sofas but also tables to pop out your laptop and use and abuse their free wireless internet connection. Their wireless internet is fast and reliable. They have an exclusion on under 18s, so the coffee shop is clean, friendly and inviting.

A co-worker gave me a bag of Starbucks coffee that she decided she didn’t like. She thought the X-Bold on the label referred to the caffeine content rather than the flavor. This fuzzy logic makes sense if you consider that she … 7:30 in the evening, and I could have sworn it was only 4:30 in the afternoon. I either blacked out, or discovered the secret to time travel. After this, I’ve decided to avoid caffeine for a while. Posted by Preston at 7:44 AM …
